作家的旅程

Nice Guy Syndrome (sometimes referred to as people pleasing syndrome) is a well-documented but unofficial psychological disorder that is highly prevalent among men. It describes a series of beliefs, traits and behaviors whereby the sufferer feels compelled to make other people feel happy, approve of him, validate him, like him, and consider him to be "nice".

It is essentially a long-term social manipulation strategy formed by childhood trauma, where "niceness" - in many forms such as being funny, helpful, caring, interesting, generous etc. - is used to manage how people feel and thereby control their impression of the man. Often last many decades, the classic Nice Guy eventually becomes so consumed by approval-seeking that he loses himself in it, like a method actor, and becomes the role he designed.

In this book, recoverying Nice Guy and Confidence Coach Dan Munro outlines the beliefs and behaviors that form the syndrome, and more importantly, how to escape these to become more genuine, confident, and socially successful.

This book for any people pleaser who's finally realised that being nice all the time only leads to misery - superficial friendships, disastrous relationships, mediocre career, and low self-worth - and is finally ready to try something different, but doesn't want to swing the other way and become a nasty person.

Nice Guy Recovery will take you by the hand and give you solid, tested, practical advice on how to be more authentic and confident by learning to live with integrity and improve your social skills, for better relationships, more satisfying vocations, unbreakable self-confidence, and long-term quality of life.

Dan Munro is a Confidence and Integrity Coach based in Europe. He created the BROJO self-development community which has grown to include members from all over the world, and is the bestselling author of The Legendary Life, Nothing to Lose, and The Naked Truth. Dan specializes in helping Nice Guys and People Pleasers figure out what it means to "just be yourself", through helping them remove the psychological barriers to authentic and confident living. He comes from a psychology and science-focused philosophy and background, having worked with high risk criminal offenders, and is expertly trained in confidence building, motivational techniques, psychological confidence, leadership skills, acceptance and value-based living, and managing manipulation. Dan is a former People-Pleaser (a.k.a Nice Guy) who spent most of his life trying to get approval from other people. Once he discovered that this was a painful and dishonest way to live, he set out to find the truth about how to enjoy life, find purpose, and be ultimately satisfied with who you are as a person. He developed a blueprint called The 3X Model of Confidence, that underlies success in all areas of life, and can be learned quickly and effectively. Dan's mission in life is to teach people this secret so that they can get the most out of their short time on this planet.
