  4. The formula for calculating the probability of an event E is:
P(E) = Number of Favorable Outcomes/ Total Number of Possible Outcomes
  1. Probability Axiom or Probability Bounds (0 ≤ P(E) ≤ 1) indicates that
  • The value of P(E) lies between 0 and 1.
  • 0 ≤ P(E) means that probability of an event is greater than or equal to 0.
  • P(E) ≤ 1 means that probability of an event is always less than or equal to 1.
