Savanna Escape: The Zoo Crew’s Wild Adventure is a colorful children’s adventure about four unforgettable zoo friends who unexpectedly discover what lies beyond their familiar home.
Leo the Lion enjoys being king of his cozy enclosure. Hilda the Hippo loves snack time, Ziggy the Zebra races around his yard, and energetic Marty the Monkey spends his days swinging from ropes. Their lives are comfortable and predictable—until one stormy night changes everything.
When a falling branch cracks open the zoo gate, Marty sees the opportunity for the adventure of a lifetime. Together, the four friends race through the open gate and leave the city behind.
Soon they find themselves standing beneath the stars in the wide-open savanna, where there are no cages, no fences, and no zookeepers. At first, freedom feels exciting. Ziggy can run farther than ever before, Hilda discovers a giant watering hole, and Marty climbs the tallest trees he can find.
But the wild is very different from the zoo.
The friends must learn to watch for danger, work together, and use their individual strengths. A wise elephant helps them understand the savanna, Ziggy uses his sharp hearing to detect danger, and the group learns how powerful teamwork can be when they rescue a baby elephant trapped in the mud.
Their journey also teaches them something unexpected: adventure is wonderful, but home, friendship, safety, and belonging matter too.
Filled with bright illustrations, lovable animal characters, humor, excitement, and heart, Savanna Escape introduces young readers to themes of courage, friendship, cooperation, problem-solving, empathy, exploration, and appreciation for home.
It is an engaging read-aloud story for families, classrooms, bedtime reading, and young children who love animals and exciting adventures.
